A First Look at the NEO 2 Secret Figures

A friend of mine in Hong Kong has gotten us a "first look" at the secret figures in Gundam Collection NEO 2. We are not sure if these are all of the secret figures in NEO 2, but they most likely are. The figures are:
  1. Zeta Gundam (MSZ-006-3Z)
  2. "Hobby" Hi-Zack from Char's Counterattack
  3. Gold Hyper-Mode Shining Gundam
  4. Berserker-Mode Nobel Gundam

NEO 2 Variations According to Hobby Japan

Posted by A at 8:34 AM | View All 2 Comments | Post a Comment

Loyal reader aiktat has shared with us the list of "variations" from NEO Collection 2, according to the magazine Hobby Japan. The variations pictured to the right are listed first:
  1. Strike Freedom Gundam - rifles in both hands / beam shield and saber
  2. Destiny Gundam - gun in right hand / an alternate pose (possibly gun in left hand and firing palm beam on right hand)
  3. Rick Dom - bazooka / heat saber
  4. Bolinoak Samaan - empty hands / beam saber
  5. Gaza-C - empty hands / beam saber
  6. Taurus Mobile Doll - beam rifle / a different gun (possibly beam cannon?)
  7. Serpent - double gatling gun / a different gun (possibly beam cannon or bazooka?)
  8. Blaze ZAKU Phantom - machine gun / heat axe
  9. Shining Gundam - normal colors / gold "Hyper Mode" color
That leaves the Zogock, Ball, Blast Impulse Gundam, Nobel Gundam and apparently the white "Sanc Kingdom" Taurus with no variations. I would not be surprised if "Berserker Mode" Nobel Gundam or a transformed "flight mode" Taurus ended up being secret figures though.

If anyone can further corroborate this list, please let me know.

DX3 Release Date and Figure List Confirmed

Posted by A at 9:13 AM | View All 3 Comments | Post a Comment

DX3's November release date has been confirmed, and the usual figure line-up picture has been revealed. The Heavyarms figure has a missile-launching effect, much like the firing-gun effect we've seen in the NEO series... seems a little cheesy to me. The only difference I can see between these pictures and the one from the hobby show is that the Xamel has its gun folded-up and stowed. I don't know if the gun is moveable, or if there will be two versions of the figure - one with the gun deployed and one with it stowed. Hopefully it'll be the former, but we'll have to wait and see.

The forum is back online, finally... Why not drop by and say hello, and maybe buy/sell/trade a figure or two? ;-)

DX3 Release Date... November!

Posted by A at 3:09 PM | View All 3 Comments | Post a Comment

According to HobbyLink Japan, Gundam Collection DX3 is expected in late November. They have it up for preorder with a 5% discount... I am surprised DX3 is coming out so soon, just one month after NEO 2 is released and within two months of first being revealed at a Japanese toy show. Perhaps we will start getting more frequent releases now, something every month or two, instead of every two to four months?
